Jump to game in opener's own suit shows semi-solid suit with too many controls for a preempt. Single jump shifts by opener are solid suits, demanding cue bids (responder bids an ace, NT with 2+ kings, or just raises with 0-1 ctrls). Double Jumps in new suits are splinters (implying min). A jump raise is a balanced slam try with very nice trump support. Strong unbalanced hands should trump ask, then splint. *(Alternatively, jump raise can be unspecified 19+ splinter, 3M+1 can be unspecified min. sing. splinter, and higher splinters min with void) For responder's 2nd bid, jumps to 3NT show a medium hand, jump raises to game of opener's suit promises min. with all values in the 2 suits, jump rebids by responder show semi-solid suit, and jumps in a new suit are splinters with fit for opener's suit. Finally, the relay (one step) after opener's natural rebid shows 12+ pts. Opener can make a Gamma Asking Bid (GAB, or Trump Ask) by raising responder's positive response. The step responses are: no top honor, one TH with 5 crds, two w/ 5crds, 1 w/6crd, 2 w/6crd, and AKQ. The length of the first and last steps can be clarified with a repeat ask. After the GAB, opener can relay as a control ask (0-1,2,3..) or proceed straight to Epsilon AB (control ask, or EAB). Each suit bid is asking for what control of that suit. The steps are no control, 3rd rd, 2nd rd, 1st rd, and AK/AQ. Repeat ask clarifies control by (1)strength or (2)length. -------------------------------------- After 1C-1NT(8-13 bal.) nat. bidding or 2C relay: 1C-1NT-2C ...2D 8-10HCP, 4 hearts ... 2H 8-10HCP, 4 spades ...2S 8-10, no major ... 2NT 11-13, 4333 or 5332 in minor ...3C 11-13, clubs+another ...3D 11-13, diamonds+major ...3H 11-13, 3433 or 4-4 majors (3S rel-> 3433/4423min/4432min/4423max/4432max) ...3S 11-13, 4333 After 1C-1NT-2C-2D(orH, parallel) ...2H Trump Ask (0,1,1+j,2,3), then EAB's ...2S/3C/3D nat. ...2NT shape relay (bid another suit) ...3H sets trump, asks for cue-bid (or 3NT if 2 kings) After 1C-1NT-2C-2S.. ...2NT shape relay (5c,5d,2344,3244,3334/3343) nat. continuations After 1C-1NT-2C-2NT.. ...3C relay (5d,4c,4d,5c are the steps) After 1C-1NT-2C-3C, 3D asks for 2nd suit, now raise of minor is nat., and new suit is cue for the major Jumps to 4NT quant., only NON-JUMPS over MAJORS is BlWd; for BW, raise or cue first After 1C-1NT-2C-3H/S, opener's new suit is cue bid for hearts IF OPENER DOES NOT RELAY, fast arrival is ON.
